Terms of Service

Effective September 28, 2026. These terms govern your use of shipxautotransport.com and any vehicle transport arranged by ShipX Auto Transport.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By requesting a quote, booking a shipment, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old and the vehicle's owner or an authorized agent of the owner.

2. ShipX is a broker, not a motor carrier

ShipX Auto Transport is a licensed and bonded property broker (USDOT #8280254, MC #77783161). We arrange vehicle transportation with independent, FMCSA-authorized motor carriers. ShipX does not own, operate or drive the equipment that transports your vehicle and is not a common carrier. The assigned carrier is responsible for the physical transport of the vehicle and for its own acts and omissions.

3. Estimates, quotes and pricing

The Instant ShipX Estimate is a good-faith price based on the information you provide — route, vehicle, transport type and timing — and current market conditions. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed final price. Your final all-inclusive price is confirmed once carrier availability is verified. Materially inaccurate information (wrong vehicle, inoperable vehicle described as running, oversized modifications, inaccessible pickup or delivery location) may change the price or require rebooking.

4. Total Transport Price, Booking Fee and payment

A booking is confirmed when you accept your quote, sign the Vehicle Transport Service Agreement, and authorize payment. The Total Transport Price is the full agreed transportation price. You authorize ShipX Auto Transport LLC to charge your payment method the Booking Fee shown on your Agreement; the Booking Fee is applied toward the Total Transport Price and is not an additional charge.

The Remaining Balance is due directly to the assigned motor carrier following successful delivery, in the manner stated on the applicable carrier documents or rate confirmation. ShipX is not authorized to charge your card for the Remaining Balance unless you later sign a separate written or electronic authorization specifically permitting it.

No discretionary additional amount may be charged to your payment method without a separate written or electronic authorization identifying the reason, the exact additional amount, and the revised Total Transport Price. Card payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party processor; ShipX does not retain CVV after authorization.

5. Cancellations and refunds

Before a motor carrier is assigned and accepts your shipment, the Booking Fee is refundable if you cancel in writing, less only separately authorized charges actually incurred. Once a carrier is assigned and accepts your shipment, the Booking Fee is earned and nonrefundable and the booking is final, except as otherwise stated in the Agreement or required by law. Cancellation requests must be sent to notify@shipxautotransport.com and are effective when received. Full details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Pickup and delivery windows

Pickup and delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Transit times depend on distance, weather, traffic, road closures, hours-of-service rules, mechanical issues and carrier routing. Carriers typically cover 380–500 miles per day. Neither ShipX nor the carrier is liable for losses caused by delay, including rental car costs, missed appointments, lost wages or airfare, except where required by law.

Transport is door to door as close to your address as is legally and safely possible. If a full-size carrier cannot access a street, you agree to meet the driver at a nearby accessible location such as a large parking lot.

7. Vehicle condition and preparation

You must disclose whether the vehicle runs, drives, brakes and steers, and disclose any modifications affecting size, weight or ground clearance. The vehicle should have no more than a quarter tank of fuel, no loose or protruding parts, no active fluid leaks, and no alarms that cannot be disabled. Remove toll tags and parking passes.

Personal items. Carrier cargo insurance does not cover personal belongings. Any items left in the vehicle are transported at your sole risk and may be limited by the carrier (commonly up to 100 lbs in the trunk, below the window line).

8. Inspection, Bill of Lading and claims

The carrier and the person releasing the vehicle inspect it and sign a Bill of Lading ("BOL") at pickup, and inspect it again at delivery. You or an authorized adult must be present at both ends. Any new damage must be noted on the delivery BOL before signing and before the driver leaves; photographs should be taken at that time.

Damage claims are filed against the assigned carrier's cargo insurance. ShipX will provide the carrier's insurance information, the BOL, and reasonable assistance in filing and pursuing your claim, but as a broker ShipX is not the insurer and does not adjudicate claims. Claims not noted on the delivery BOL are typically denied by carrier insurers.

9. Insurance

Every carrier we assign is required to hold active cargo and liability insurance, and we verify the certificate before loading. Coverage limits, deductibles and exclusions are set by the carrier's policy. Normal wear from road travel — such as road film, minor rock chips on open transport, or weather exposure — is generally excluded.

10. Prohibited use

You may not use our services to ship stolen vehicles, contraband, hazardous materials, firearms, or any illegal goods, or to submit false information, fraudulent payment instruments, or automated scraping requests against our quoting system.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShipX's total liability arising out of or relating to any shipment is limited to the Booking Fee paid to ShipX for that shipment. ShipX is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Intellectual property

The ShipX name, logo, site design, content and quoting technology are owned by ShipX Auto Transport and may not be copied or reused without written permission.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us first. Any unresolved dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

14. Changes and contact

If you have a billing concern, cancellation request, refund request, or complaint, please contact ShipX first so we may promptly investigate and attempt to resolve the matter. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable law or payment-network rules. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.
